Lirik Lagu Selamat Hari Raya – Saloma

Selamat aidil fitri
Kepada saudara serta saudari
Setahun hanya sekali
Merayakan hari yang mulia ini
Di masa bulan Ramadan
Kita berpuasa hingga sebulan
Pabila Syawal menjelma
Hari raya disambut dengan gembira
(Korus 1)
Miskin kaya memakai baju baru warna-warni
Mengunjungi sanak kaum famili
Sungguh hebat pemandangan di hari raya ini
Tua muda wajah berseri-seri
Selamat hari raya
Pada saudari saudara semua
Marilah dengan gembira
Merayakan aidilfitri yang mulia
Di sana kelihatan
Bermacam kuih ketupat dan rendang
[ Saloma Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
Mintak bu kuih sepotong
Saya mahu makan kerna perut kosong
Dam dam dum bunyi mercun
Kanak-kanak segera datang berduyun
Dam dam dum mercun berdentum
Semaraklah hari raya ini tahun
(Korus 2)
Maafkanlah jika ada terlanjur perkataan
Diharap supaya jangan disimpan
Kuberdoa selamat panjang umur murah rezeki
Semoga Tuhan akan memberkati
Selamat hari raya
Hari untuk kita bersuka ria
Selamat mari ucapkan
Untuk kita hingga sampai tahun depan
Selamat hari raya!

Eid Mubarak

eid mubarak 2014Muslims around the world celebrated with prayer and food during the Eid al-Fitr festival, marking the end of Ramadan 2014 or the Islamic holy month of fasting.  Reuters
Muslims around the world celebrated with prayer and food during the Eid al-Fitr festival on Monday, marking the end of Ramadan 2014, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The annual holiday, which lasts for three days, marks the anniversary of the Quran being revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
There was some confusion this year as to when Eid would be celebrated, The Guardian reported, but both the Saudi Press Agency and the Fiqh Council of North America declared Monday, July 28, as the end of Ramadan.
The three-day festival, sometimes abbreviated as “Eid” or “Eid Mubarak,” marks the end of the monthlong daytime fasting during Ramadan, which began on June 28 this year. Eid al Fitr begins after the new crescent moon appears and falls on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, when Muslims celebrate unity. During Eid, many join in Islamic prayer, known as salat while saying "Allahu Akbar," or "God is Great," and feasting.
Ramadan is an annual celebration held during the ninth month of the 12-month Islamic calendar, starting after the sighting of the new moon. The holy month began this year on June 28 at sunset, or “rukyah,” when the moon was spotted. The celebration lasts for 29 or 30 days until the next new moon appears, which happened on Monday. The month of fasting is celebrated by more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world, including in the U.S., where there are nearly 2.6 million Muslims, according to the Pew Research Center.
The purpose of Ramadan is to focus on spirituality, prayer and withholding any acts of violence during the fast. Many Muslims around the world are expected to participate -- with the exception of the elderly, sick and pregnant -- and wish each other "Ramadan Kareem" or "Ramadan Mubarak."
For the end of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate Ed al-Fitr, Arabic for “breaking the fast.” Muslim families will exchange gives, sit down for meals and pray together for three days.
Traditional greetings during Eid al-Fitr are “Eid Mubarak,” which means "Blessed Eid," and “Eid Said,” meaning "Happy Eid." Muslims also donate food, called “Zakat al-Fitr” or “charity of breaking the fast,” so that the poor can also celebrate the holiday.
During Ramadan, Muslims are expected to refrain from food and drink and abstain from smoking and sex from dawn to dusk as one of the five pillars of Islam. The breaking of the fast, or iftaar, begins at dusk by eating dates.  Some Muslims have slightly different variations and have broader definitions of practices during Ramadan.

Hunt for Deputy Customs D-G's murderer ends with main suspect's arrest

PETALING JAYA: The main suspect behind the murder of Deputy Customs Director-General Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim has been arrested.
After more than a year of being at large, the 30-year-old man was detained together with three others in two separate raids Tuesday morning.
"The four men were arrested in Ampang and Batu Caves, and are in their 30s and 40s," said a source.
The source added that one of the suspects then led police to a house in Taman Jati, Rawang, at about 10am Wednesday.
A T-shirt, believed to have been worn by the gunman on the day Shaharuddin was shot, was found there.
"The men are now in the Putrajaya police headquarters' lock-up," he said.
Shaharuddin, who headed the Customs and Internal Tax Unit Division, was a year away from retirement when he was shot on April 26 last year.
The Negri Sembilan-born Shaharuddin served the Department for over 30 years, where his work earned him the moniker "Mr Clean".

Belgium vs USA, World Cup 2014, as it happened

Belgium vs USA, World Cup 2014, as it happened

there's no Hollywood ending, at least not the one where Rocky gets back up from the eight count and pummels the European to within an inch of his life. Instead it's the Hollywood lesson ending (the worst kind of lesson) where winning isn't everything as long as you give it your all, son. Well Klinsmann's side certainly gave it their all (and more). Tim Howard was denying the belgians all on his own for a large part of the game. Finally his wall was breached, not once but twice. Game over. Surely? But no. The US got a goal back and then piled on the pressure for an equaliser that very nearly came. It was an astonishing performance from the US but Belgium deserve credit too. This was probably their best - and certainly their most attacking - display of the tournament.
The bodies strewn all over the pitch at the final whistle told the story more emphatically than any words. It was a crazy, thrilling, head-spinning game. USA are going home, Belgium are going through. Everyone needs to go and lie down now. All of you. Thanks for your comments and for following the blog throughout the evening. Come back on Friday for the first two quarter finals. Goodnight.

All eight group winners make it through to the quarter final.Maybe we should ditch the second round entirely? Though look what we would have missed. The last eight line up is as follows:
Friday July 4
France v Germany 5pm BST
Brazil v Colombia 9pm BST
Saturday July 5
Argentina v Belgium 5pm BST
Holland v Costa Rica 9pm BST

Full time: Belgium 2 USA 1. Howard pumps one last ball into the area but Fellaini heads clear and that is it. What a game. Maybe the best of a World Cup that gets better and better every couple of hours.
119 min: This is it. The last chance for US. Beasley crosses from the left and Yedlin is arriving at the back post. He tries to hook it back into the centre but slices it behind for a goal kick. That's the first foot he's put out of place since he came on.
119 min: Great ball from Lukaku. It beats Cameron but Mirallas can’t collect.
116 min: What a ball from Yedlin but Wondolowski can’t get his shot away. Eventually Jones does shoot but it’s from distance and it flies over the top.
114 min: American newcomers to football: you’ve played pinball, right? Well that’s what ‘s going on in the Belgium area now. Eventually Courtois falls on the ball.

Courtois smothers Dempsey's effort
113 min: What a free kick. Jones runs over it, Bradley plays it to Yedlin who flicks on to Dempsey and it’s an unbelievable save from Courtois dashing off his line to smother the free kick. What a time to bring out 'one from the training ground'. And but for the finish it was perfectly executed.
112 min: Free kick to USA, dead centre 35 yards out. A bit too far to shoot I would think.
110 min: Chadli is on and Eden Hazard goes off. The Belgium fans aren't happy with that.
110 min: What a save from Howard., Lukaku bustles through the US defence and looks certain to wrap it up but Howard gets out this giant redwood tree-trunks that he calls his legs and makes the block.
108 min: Jones is inches wide. Inches, with a stabbed effort from a Dempsey knock down after more excellent work from Yedlin. This is Rocky v Ivan Drago now and Rocky’s just picked himself off the deck.

GOAL! BELGIUM 2 USA 1 (Green 106) What's happening here, It's a great ball from Bradley and an even better run by Green. He meets it on the volley, doesn't catch it cleanly but it beats Courtois and nestles in the corner. It's his first touch, not only of this game but of the World Cup. Not a bad way to start. And it's game on again. Hang on to your hats, folks.
Peep! The second half is underway. The US need to be as heroic in attack as they were for 90 minutes in defence if they are to take this to penalties.
Half time: Belgium 2 USA 0. It's a long, long way back now.
105+1 min: Julian Green is coming on for Bedoya. I'm not sure why he doesn't wait until half time to make the change. He's using up his own time here.

GOAL! BELGIUM 2 USA 0 (Lukaku 104) Belgium are surely into the last eight. Once again it's on the counter. It's a reversal of the first goal as De Bruyne threads a pass through to Lukaku and the finish is emphatic, rifling past Howard first time with his left foot.
104 min: Once more Howard is called into action, this time to block from Mirallas. Jones is back on.
102 min: Good move down the left from the US but Alderweireld does brilliantly to clear Beasley’s cross. It comes back to Beasley but his second attempt is too strong. The US are still down to 10 men with Jones receiving treatment.,
100 min Lukaku is in again, picking up Hazard’s pass. He holds off Yedlin’s challenge and gets his shot away but Howard saves at his near post.
99 min: Chance for the US – it’s excellent work from Cameron and then Dempsey but he delays shooting and Jones picks up. He gets his shot away but it ricochets off some Belgium legs and almost falls back into Dempsey’s path. Jones takes a nasty knock in that passage and is down for treatment.
97 min: Cameron lofts a cross into the area but it's far too high.
95 min: The US have responded well to going behind but Belgium are so dangerous on the counter and Lukaku is running right. He brings another save from Howard at his near post.

Mesut Ozil's World Cup quarter-final place under threat as Germans criticise unconvincing win

Mesut Ozil's World Cup quarter-final place under threat as Germans criticise unconvincing win

Mesut Ozil is sweating on his place for Germany’s World Cup quarter-final showdown with France.
And the joke in Germany is that it may be the first time the Arsenal midfielder has broken into a sweat at all during Brazil 2014.
Ozil was held up as a symbol of Germany’s failings, and his form and his underwhelming performances dominated the inquest into their unconvincing 2-1 extra-time win over Algeria.
German newspaper Bild called for the 25-year-old to be dropped, while his failure to sing the national anthem again drew widespread comment and former captain Michael Ballack claimed the nervy win was a “heart-attack moment.”
So, if Arsenal fans think it is just the nasty English media picking on Ozil, they had better think again.
Arsenal’s £42million record signing DID score Germany's second on Monday night but he flitted in and out of the game and victory was not enough to spare him from criticism.
Ozil - the son of Turkish parents and a practising Muslim - recites the Koran to himself rather than sing the German national anthem.
On the pitch, he is no longer seen as untouchable.
Bild’s editorial wants Andre Schurrle of Chelsea to play ahead of Ozil against France.
The criticism of Germany’s stuttering display - as if to prove other nations do care how their team plays even when they win - brought a furious reaction from the normally mild mannered Per Mertesacker.
Arsenal defender Mertesacker turned on a TV interviewer live on German station ZDF as he insisted they were not a “bunch of clowns” and the result was all important.

Mertesacker ranted: “What do you want from me? What do you want? Do you think it would be better if we played attractive soccer and got knocked out?
“Do you think that this is just a bunch of clowns here playing in the last 16? I can’t understand all these stupid questions right after a match.
“We worked extremely hard for 120 minutes and fought all the way to the end, and we played well and won in extra time. It was a battle back and forth the whole way.
“We played courageously. Okay, we let them have too many chances but we didn’t give up a goal when it mattered. We won deservedly. We’re in the last eight and that’s what counts.”
It was a remarkable outburst from a player who rarely loses his temper and it illustrates just how much tensions are rising in the German camp.
Germany captain Philipp Lahm - who is also the subject of discussion as to whether he should be restored to his familiar full-back slot rather than continue in midfield - was more sympathetic towards the fans.
Lahm said: “I can understand the fans, the people paid for their tickets and they wanted to see something.”
“We are not at our best level game in the last few matches but we are winning and the results are the most important thing in a World Cup. I hope that in the quarter final we can put on our best display.
“It was a hard game against Algeria. But if we wants to win the title in Brazil we will need to suffer and make sacrifices. France will be a tough opponent. From now, these games are 50-50.”
Ozil defended Germany’s performance - and insisted the squad still believe they can win the World Cup.
He added: “We are working very hard, the race is very open and now we know that every match is a final.
“Germany will always be among the candidates to win the World Cup but this tournament is special and that is why it was more important to get the result.”

Argentina’s Ángel di María breaks Switzerland’s hearts at the death

Argentina’s Ángel di María breaks Switzerland’s hearts at the death

If, after two hours of doggedly repetitive effort, you don’t succeed: try, try again. On the evidence of this gruelling and occasionally claustrophobic World Cup last-16 tie, if you’ve got a nimble-footed creative genius of a No10 in your team, the chances are it’s going to come off in the end.
With Argentina and Switzerland still goalless after 117 minutes in São Paulo, Lionel Messi picked the ball up, as he had many times already, in a central position 40 yards from the Swiss goal. This time there was a genuine pocket of space in front of him and Messi spotted the moment, as he has with uncanny timing at thisWorld Cup.
Accelerating towards goal with those familiar little bunny-hopping steps, Messi skipped past Fabian Schär, delayed enough to suck Ricardo Rodríguez infield and slipped the ball behind him into the empty space at the corner of the penalty area. Ángel di María had had a slightly wild match to that point, giving the ball away more than 50 times in all, but showing great heart and spirit in coming back for more. This time Di María shot low and hard first time into the corner.
There was time still for Blerim Dzemaili to hit the post with a header from a corner and then see the rebound deflect wide off his shin, but it just was not to be for the Swiss at the end of a match that saw Ottmar Hitzfeld, one of the modern managerial greats, confirm his retirement.
At the final whistle Argentina’s fans dissolved into a frenzy of bare-chested, flag-waving joy. This disjointed team of talents, with their flat-footed midfield, creaky defence and high-grade attacking individuals, continue to edge through the rounds at Brazil 2014. Argentina have some obvious flaws, like all the remaining teams, but they also have one thrillingly relentless point of strength and they will take some stopping.
For all the clamour of the game’s final moments, the noise inside the Arena Corinthians before kick-off was mild after the choral din of Argentina’s previous matches, a consequence perhaps of the sheer mountainous scale of this huge open-sided stadium.
With locals and blue-and-white-shirted Argentinians mixing happily enough in the stands there was a lassitude to the opening minutes as Argentina kicked off in the lunchtime sunshine, the most intriguing aspect the shift in their starting shape, another rejig of the pieces around Alejandro Sabella’s No10, captain and assistant selector.
Having already switched between 5-3-2 and 4-3-3, Sabella rummaged in his tactical suitcase and came up with something perhaps honed during his time at Sheffield United, a classic 4-4-2, with Ezequiel Lavezzi on the right wing and Messi in a familiar deep No10 role behind Gonzalo Higuaín.
Before this match Hitzfeld was asked how he hoped to stop Messi. “Wait until tomorrow, you will see,” was his answer, and here the Swiss resumed their customary high-speed pressing game, hustling nicely and launching the odd early attack, as Xherdan Shaqiri twice twisted and turned with purpose down Argentina’s right flank.
That four-man midfield did Argentina few favours going forward here with Javier Mascherano and Fernando Gago providing little drive or dynamism in those central areas, even as the game congealed in the last hour into a neck-cricking affair of slow-burn, one-way Argentinian pressure.
Two or three times Messi received the ball and was confronted by three or four defenders shoulder to shoulder like rugby forwards, required to produce yet another moment of wriggling genius from his hat. When Plan A (give it to Messi) stalls, and Plan B (also give it to Messi) is blunted, Argentina have one alternative left: keep giving it to Messi. The great shame in all this is that Messi can never give it to Messi.
In a scratchy first half it took 25 minutes for Argentina to create a chance, Higuaín heading over from Messi’s whipped free-kick, but it was the Swiss who had the better opening two minutes later, Granit Xhaka shooting low but straight at Sergio Romero from a Shaqiri cutback.
And with 33 minutes gone it was Shaqiri, resembling in his square-shouldered red shirt a kind of footballing Mr Strong, who had the locals on their feet with a lovely little display of keep-ball trickery by the touchline – a rare moment of old-school Brazilian football in these parts – for which he was duly bundled to theground.
After the break the Messi of the Alps continued to look the liveliest player on the pitch, scuttling into space down the left land cutting the ball back for Josip Drmic to shovel a shot over the bar. Shaqiri is a rare talent but at times in this Switzerland team he does resemble a visiting Bayern Munich player on a coaching course with some promising hopefuls.
As the hour mark passed Argentina were having their best spell, with Lavezzi and Di María leaving their flanks and foraging through the middle. The chances came in a steady drip-drip. With 12 minutes left Messi, again breaking from a deep central position, beat two players and shot low and hard only to see Benaglio make a scrabbling save.
And that was pretty much that as extra time arrived. For a while, with penalties looming and both teams visibly tiring, it was Switzerland who had the locals on their feet shouting “olé” in taunting fashion as Shaqiri produced some entertaining nutmegs. Until that is that clinching intervention at the last from Argentina’s relentless No10, capped by Di María’s fine finish.
